Statement from Headspring Investments in response to Minister Calle Schlettwein’s answers in parliament

This vibrant celebration catered to children, the elderly, and the youth, showcasing Headspring Investments’ unwavering commitment to fostering inclusivity, community development, and shared experiences that leave lasting memories.

Headspring Investments recently participated as part of Rosatom at Namibia’s second Nuclear Science and Technology Conference, presenting a vision for sustainable and secure energy solutions tailored for the region. The three-day conference, held in Swakopmund, brought together leaders in the nuclear industry, government officials, and representatives from African and international organizations. Under the theme “Unlocking the Potential of Nuclear Science and Technology for Namibia’s Development,” the event explored how nuclear energy could drive economic growth and enhance energy security across Africa

The Omaheke Awareness Campaign, held from October 16 to 18, 2024, was a truly inspiring initiative brought to life by us at Headspring Investments in collaboration with O-Space. Over three incredible days, we celebrated innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment in the Omaheke region. The event gathered local officials, community members, and young leaders to exchange ideas, inspire action, and spark lasting change.

At Headspring Investments, sustainability and innovation are at the core of everything we do. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a group of MBA students from the University of Namibia at our Leonardville project site in the Omaheke Region. This visit was designed to showcase not only the operational aspects of modern mining but also to immerse future leaders in the complex relationship between economic growth and environmental stewardship.

At Headspring Investments, we believe that sustainable community development begins with education and opportunity. Our latest initiative, in partnership with the Namibia Institute for Mining Technology (NIMT), aims to equip 20 young people from Leonardville with the skills and experience necessary to build promising careers in the mining and related industries.

Uranium One Group has taken note of SAUMA’s open letter which was published in the media recently. Rosatom, the mother company of Uranium One Group, has a proven track record of over 50 years in In-Situ Leaching or In-Situ Recovery (ISR) mining. Because Rosatom insists on the highest ecological standards, there has been no incident of contamination in any of our ISR mines, ever.

Has Uranium One considered the pollution risk of the exploration and mining in the Leonardville area and if so, what mitigating actions have been established and how effective these proven to be during the current exploration process?

As we have heard, Uranium One has recently opened an office in Leonardville. What does it mean for the company, its activities and the local community?
