All of our operations meet international, federal, state, and local health and safety requirements.
Strong and enduring stakeholder and community relationships are secured through a wide variety of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and programs developed in consultation with local communities, non-governmental organizations, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
WE SEEK TO PROMOTE AND SUPPORT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES TO IMPROVE LOCAL EDUCATION, SPORT, HEALTH CARE, SANITATION AND AGRICULTURE.
Social projects
Uranium One Group and Headspring Investments have focused on CSR activities from the earliest stages of our Project.
These include recruitment and training programs to maximize the employment and skills development of local residents; business initiatives to improve the availability and quality of local service and material providers; infrastructure projects; support and promotion of sports; equipping and improving schools and health care clinics; and environmental initiatives to protect, enhance and conserve local ecosystems, environments and wildlife resources.
NAOSANABIS PRIMARY SCHOOL FEEDING SCHEME & KITCHEN
Headspring Investments has been implementing a charitable project to provide balanced meals for children at the Noasanabis Primary School in Leonardville from 2022. The company is assisting in organizing food supplies for the school, investing over N$400,000 annually in the feeding scheme alone.
The second stage of the feeding scheme was the construction of a modern kitchen with amenities to create comfortable and safe sanitary conditions for food preparation for the pupils.
The construction was done with the participation of local residents, as it is important for the company to not only support the school but also ensure that the community at large benefits.
The kitchen is completed and more than 600 children can now enjoy their meal.
The construction cost of the kitchen including the equipment and utensils costs is over N$3 million. Helping the school is our investment in the health and safety of children, which is imperative to our common successful future.
FULLY FUNDED BURSARY SCHEME
In 2023, Headsprings Investments introduced an exceptional opportunity for Namibian students by offering fully paid bursaries to study mining-related degrees in Russia. The bursary covers fields like Geology, Geophysics, Hydrology, and Mining Engineering.
Upon completing their studies, graduates will secure employment at the proposed uranium mines in Namibia, ensuring both career growth and contributions to the country’s energy future.
Students also benefit from more than just academic pursuits. They get the chance to immerse themselves in Russian culture, including a year-long Russian language course and exciting excursions, such as a visit to the ATOM Pavilion at VDNH, where they explore the latest advancements in nuclear technology. Such immersive experiences, coupled with cultural excursions and industry exposure, ensure that students never miss out on important events, all while preparing to play a crucial role in Namibia's energy future.
ARTISAN TRAINING IN NIMT, ARANDIS CAMPUS
Headspring Investments, in partnership with the Namibian Institute of Mining and Technology (NIMT), has launched an educational program to equip 20 young individuals from Leonardville with the skills needed to pursue careers in mining and related industries.
This six-month intensive technical training program, which began in September 2024, is fully funded by Headspring Investments. The N$700,000 contribution covers tuition, accommodation, and living costs.
In addition to technical expertise, the trainees are provided with personal and professional development opportunities. Upon completion, we are committed to supporting their transition into the workforce through job placements. After gaining practical experience for 3-4 years, these young professionals will have the chance to further their qualifications with National Certificates from NIMT.
We are committed to building the future of Leonardville and the Omaheke region through education, skills development and sustainable community growth.
