Primary school children are assured of a nutritious meal

Headspring Investments (a subsidiary company of Rosatom State Corporation) built a modern kitchen for a school in Leonardville

Headspring Investments is implementing a charitable project to provide meals for children at the Noasanabis Primary School in Leonardville from 2022. The company is assisting in organizing food supplies for the school, investing over N$400,000 annually in the project.

The second stage of the feeding scheme was the construction of a separate specially equipped space (kitchen) to create comfortable and safe sanitary conditions for food preparation for pupils. The kitchen is equipped with modern equipment and utensils, 10 “cooks” (parents of pupils) work in it simultaneously, who have time to prepare food for more than 600 children in a safe and hygienic way.

At the opening ceremony of the kitchen, the principal of Noasanabis Primary School, Mr. Alfons Hiurika, warmly thanked the company for its assistance and said: “Many of the children attend school, as they are assured of one balanced meal per day.  Since Headspring Investments started with the feeding scheme, our school attendance numbers are up, and this is a very good development for our community”.

The construction costs of the kitchen, together with the cost of the equipment and utensils, comes to just more than N$3 million, but Headspring Investments director Kirill Egorov-Kirillov described the project's main figures as “millions of children's smiles” that are now seen daily at the school. “Helping the school is our investment in the health and safety of children, and this is the most important thing for our common successful future. We will definitely continue our charitable initiatives and I am sure that our joint efforts will definitely bring great results for the development of the region and the whole of Namibia,” he said.
