Windhoek, Namibia - Headspring Investments, Rosatom’s fully owned affiliate in Namibia, successfully showcased its flagship Project Wings and marked the celebration of 80 years of Russian nuclear industry at the 2025 Mining Expo in Windhoek (5-7 August). Hosted by the Namibian Chamber of Mines, the event saw unprecedented demand, extending to three days with 198 companies occupying 335 booths - a new attendance record.
The expo underscored Namibia’s emergence as a premier global investment destination, attracting delegates from Russia, China, Australia, Canada, South Africa, and beyond. Headspring Investments’ stand drew approximately 200 high-profile visitors, including Namibian cabinet ministers, parliamentary leaders, media representatives and key Project Wings stakeholders. Visitors had a chance to explore the In-Situ Recovery (ISR) process through a detailed 3D model offering step-by-step immersion into each phase, and test operational skills using a virtual simulator.
Kirill Egorov-Kirillov, Director of Headspring Investments, emphasized the Expo’s strategic value:
"This platform allowed us to engage stakeholders on Project Wings’ transformative potential - highlighting its safety-driven mining methodology, environmentally sustainable In-Situ Recovery (ISR) technology, and significant socioeconomic benefits for the Omaheke Region and Namibia. Our participation demonstrates Headspring Investments’ commitment to Namibia’s sustainable development."
Project Wings represents a new era for Namibian mining, combining advanced safety standards, minimal environmental impact through ISR technology, and tangible economic growth through job creation and regional investment - all aligned with Namibia’s national development goals.
