Headspring Investments Organises Familiarisation Visit to Russia’s Dalur Uranium Mine for Namibian Delegation

The delegation included farmers from the Leonardville area, media representatives, and Headspring Investments employees. The purpose of the visit was to gain first-hand insight into modern uranium extraction technologies and the potential of peaceful nuclear energy.
A key highlight of the programme was a visit to the Dalur facility in the Dolmatovsky District of the Kurgan Region, where uranium is extracted using the in-situ recovery (ISR) method. Operations at Dalur clearly demonstrate how ISR mining and agriculture can successfully coexist - farmers in the region continue to cultivate crops and graze livestock just metres away from operational sites.
The participants received a detailed briefing on the production processes and management systems in place at the facility, and were shown how environmental safety is ensured at every stage of operations.
Another stop on the tour was the ATOM Museum at Moscow’s VDNKh exhibition centre. The museum’s exhibits span the history of the nuclear industry and showcase how nuclear technology serves peaceful purposes today. Delegates explored interactive displays dedicated to uranium processing, the nature of radioactivity, and nuclear power generation.
“It was important for us that farmers and journalists from Namibia could see with their own eyes how a modern mining facility operates and get answers to their questions directly from experts. This kind of open dialogue helps build a balanced understanding of the technologies we plan to apply in the Omaheke Region,” Headspring Investments noted.
